Dry Canyon Press offers regional arts and
letters.
Unlike many small presses, which tend to be
urban-oriented, our interest is essentially in the rural nature of our region, which extends from the Pacific Ocean on the west to the Steens Mountains and the desert of eastern Oregon, from the Umpqua River on the north to a southern boundary formed by the Siskiyou Mountains.
There is abundance here, and the list is long: the vast ocean, unimaginably silent stands of redwoods, rocky volcanic peaks, autumn salmon, clean-flowing wild rivers; and a rich human overlay-- wineries, farms and ranches, fishing, hiking, birding, and sightseeing; and a long history, too, of people and the land.
From this comes story and song, as has happened with every people throughout history, and that's what we are about: the literature of here.
